SMA grade 10, Reading class 2x45'
(one computer with and internet connection provided for each student in the class)
In this assignment, students are asked to search an English article on the internet which fulfill this requirements,
1. theme, topic: choose by your own, e.g.: art, theater (art is the theme and theater is the topic)
2. length of the article: minimum 2 pages maximum 4 pages.
Don't forget to note the web address and the date and time you access the article, e.g.: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Fox_and_the_Hound_(novel) 14th March 2011, 3:15 PM.
Afterward, the students have to make a summary of the article (0,5 page at the min and 1,5 pages at the max), the reason why they choose the article (0,5 page - 1 page), opinion about the article (0,5 page - 1page, more on the main idea of the article), a list of difficult words (min. 15 words, provide also the English or Indonesian meaning, you can get it from the dictionary). Then they have to type it in the Ms. Word, don't forget to provide name, class, and student number, also don't forget to attach the article by copy-paste it behind your work with their requirements. Save the document with "Reading Assignment I" and send it to the teacher's e-mail: loonsave_3@yahoo.com. The deadline is in the end of the class, the students have to make sure that their works are sent by checking their sent e-mail status on their e-mail.

so they will use email and not blog? why don't you change "email" with blog? so they can give comments or give corrections to their friends.

Good lesson plan you have, Detta. I think this lesson plan is a creative one, since its main material is about reading, while most of the others' are reading. In my opinion, this will make it easier for the teacher to check students' assignments.
I'm not sure that the task is about using blog in this LP, but out of that thing, this is a good lesson plan. You just need more detail in time allocation since you provide

Here are my comments and suggestions for your lesson plan:
1. The instructions are quite clear but the arrangement isn't clear enough.
2. You may add some space and organize the words and steps into a good order.
3. Maybe you can find another picture to be shown in your blog's background.

nice...and sleek...nothing wrong with your LP...mebbe some people misunderstood the instruction about the 'using blogs'...it's not necessarily teaching how to use or about using blogs, but more in facilitating and organizing the activities thru blogs.

But you have to consider the time. I think the time will not enough for the students to do the assignment since they are in 10th grade of senior high school. What if you provide a detail description about your students? Whether they are already accustomed to the Internet or not. Where is the use of blog? hehehe
